I shall enjoy reading through these - remind myself of things long forgotten and hopefully learn a few things, too. I find figuring out what the latin name means helps no end in remembering what it is. In this case Betula means birch and pendula means (as you might guess) hanging - which the branches and leaves do in quite a pretty way. Cool!
